Driving tip for people from New York State (and elsewhere, but mostly New Yorkers) attempting to drive in New Jersey: in New Jersey, on most 4 lane highways with stoplights, you CAN NOT make a left turn.

I know, you see those signs hung inconveniently on the stop light pole right in front of you which say "no turns" which, since it doesn't specifically say "no LEFT turns" you interpret as therefore left turns must be allowed, despite the complete lack of a left turn signal or lane. So how do you make a left turn on a 4 lane highway in New Jersey? I'm glad you asked. Stay in the right lane, follow the little signs that say "All turns" they will take you on an admittedly stupid invention called a Jug Handle. Yes, you will appear to be going the wrong direction. It's all right. Things will work themselves out. Be patient for 15 seconds, and you will see that you are now going where you wanted to be. Thank You!
