Geography Lesson
This Article Created 01/12/2003 and was last modified 01/12/2003

So I spent the last week or so travelling. It's amazing how silly people are here in the US. For example, just about everyone makes fun of people from Alabama. Most of these people (the people doing the fun-poking) have never been to Alabama. So I took an informal survey of the people in ALabama. I asked them what region of the US they live in. In everycase, I got an answer of "southeast" (OK, so occassionally, I had to flash the answer on the cuecard, but that's not material to this discussion.) If you go to anywhere in Indiana, DUE NORTH of Alabama, and ask them what region they live in, they'll tell you the "MidWest."

Now, for the geographically impared, Indiana is not west of the Mississippi, nor particularly really central to the US, it's kind of the "MidEast" as it happens. So all of you Americans making fun of Alabama, they're not the ones who don't understand where they live. (the peple in Ohio really don't get it!)
